What a survey game actually is

A survey game doesn't ask you what's correct — it asks you what most people would say. A prompt appears (“Name a reason people are late”), and hidden behind it is a board of the answers people give most often, ranked by popularity.

Your job is to read the room, not the textbook. “Traffic” is worth a lot. “Alien abduction” is worth nothing, but it's worth the laugh.

How Survey Smash works

  • One player creates a game and shares the five-character room code.
  • Everyone joins from their own phone or laptop and marks themselves ready.
  • Players take turns guessing, with a 30-second clock on each turn.
  • Matching answers flip on the board and the points go to whoever guessed them.
  • After the last round you get a podium, full scores and a one-tap rematch.

How scoring works

Every answer carries the share of the survey it won, so the top answer is usually worth three or four times the bottom one. That's the whole tension: play safe for points or dig for the answer nobody else will find.

Guesses are matched with fuzzy logic, so plurals, typos and close synonyms still land. You don't lose a turn because you typed “coffe”.

Setup at a glance

  • 2–6 players, plus bots if you're short.
  • 3–10 rounds per game, set by whoever creates the room.
  • 2–5 guesses per player each round.
  • No account — just pick a nickname.
  • Runs in the browser, nothing to download.

Frequently asked questions

What is Survey Smash?

Survey Smash is a free multiplayer survey game. You get a survey-style prompt like “Name something people do before bed”, and you score points by guessing the answers most people gave. The more popular your answer, the more points it's worth.

Is Survey Smash free?

Yes. Every question, every game mode and every question pack is free to play.

Do I need an account?

No. You type a nickname and you're in — there's no sign-up, email or password anywhere in the game.

Do I need to download anything?

No. Survey Smash runs in any modern browser on phones, tablets, laptops and shared screens.

How many people can play?

2–6 players. One person creates a game, everyone else joins with the room code. You can also play solo against the bots.

Can I play with friends who aren't in the room?

Yes. Create a game, send the code, and everyone plays live from their own device — it works well over a video call.
